soumitss Posted Tuesday at 01:39 Share Posted Tuesday at 01:39 Hi folks. My company is expanding sales into Azerbaijan and we hit an obvious wall: local prospects do not answer calls from foreign numbers, and the ones who do assume we are a scam. We have no office in Baku and no plans to open one this year, so a physical line is out. I keep reading about virtual numbers with local prefixes but I do not understand the practical side. Does this actually work for outbound sales, and what does the setup involve on our end? Team is five people in sales, all remote, so whatever we pick has to work without any office hardware at all. hydrogenn Posted Tuesday at 01:42 Share Posted Tuesday at 01:42 It works, and honestly it is the standard approach for exactly your situation. You get a local +994 number that rings through to wherever your team already sits, so from the prospect side you are a local business and from your side nothing changes. Setup is minimal: you point the number at your SIP endpoint or a softphone and you are live the same day. We use HotTelecom https://hottelecom.biz/virtual-number-of-azerbaijan.html , for our Baku facing line and it has been steady. One honest note, some carriers restrict outbound caller ID display, so confirm what you are allowed to present before you build a whole campaign on it. Tip: test the forwarding path from a few different local carriers before you hand the number to your sales team.
