Question about materials for a kitchen project.

Good afternoon all. Question about materials for a kitchen project. We've been given a list of brands by one contractor and I have no idea whether these are genuinely good choices or just whatever he gets a discount on. Cabinets, countertops, fixtures - all of it. I don't want to overpay for a name, but I also don't want to save money on cabinet boxes and regret it in five years. Where is it genuinely worth spending, where can we sensibly economize without regretting it, and how do I tell whether a brand list is a recommendation or just a supplier relationship? Bellevue.

Spend on cabinet boxes and hardware, economize on door style and finishes if you need to. Box construction and drawer glides determine whether the kitchen still works in a decade; the door front is what you look at and can be changed far more easily. Countertops are largely durability plus taste - quartz surfaces like Cambria are low-maintenance compared to natural stone. On fixtures, mid-tier from a major brand like Kohler beats premium from an unknown. Bellevue Kitchen Remodeling is New Day Construction's page and they name the brands they work with, which makes it easier to price-check rather than taking a list on faith.
