The Mk3's Starting To Take A Little Shape

Well finally - had a bit of a break in the weather & held the bugs @ bay so sort of pulled my finger out a bit with the mk3 (thanks andy for the touch)

& HERE'S THE SPEC ITS GETTING BUILT TO

 

Total refurb of all suspension parts, inc fully Polly bushed components & koni adjustable suspension, RS1600i adjustable anti roll bar setup, 283mm cosworth rear brake conversion/ST170 300mm front brake conversion running 4 pot calipers, braided hoses, drilled & grooved discs & EBC redstuff pads, wilwood bias valve.

 

Full shell repaint – under chassis/engine bay & complete car, S1 bodykit & livery (with new tow eye cover) RS7 spoke softlines.

 

Specialised engines complete 1.9 stage 3 low comp & worked head, Newman cam, Vernier pulley, high pressure oil switch, ported & polished inlets, EFI converted, stage 3 turbo, beige webber injectors 385cc/min, 2.5 bar map sensor, boost controller, ERL water injection, Pectel T2 engine management with independent loom, cam & crank sensors, wideband lambda kit, 38mm external wastegate, 2.5" stainless exhaust with 4"tailpipe, rebuilt & re-geared mk5 diesel gearbox with LSD, quickshift & AP racing uprated 4 paddle clutch kit, ceramic coated tubular manifold/turbo housing & wastegate piping, uprated fuel pump in complete stainless housing, braided fuel lines (complete feed/return) full samco hoseing, 82* thermostat.

 

Stainless & polished - Gearbox & mounts, turbo housing, strut tops & brace, EFI inlet, fuel rail & regulator, 38mm wastegate, crossover, rocker cover, turbo heat shield, fuse box cover , brake resevior cover & cap, wiper motor cover, wiper motor backing plate, heater matrix cover, alternator heat shield & arm, thermostat housing, dumpvalve t piece & Baileys venturi valve, exhaust tail pipe heatshield, petrol filter sleeve & bracket, X2 header tanks with caps, slam panel blanking plates, under bonnet plates, timing belt cover, petrol pump brackets & baseplate, exhaust, rocker bolts & exhaust manifold bolts, bonnet stay, bonnet striker plate cover, interior instrument panel surround & stainless dials, front mount intercooler, alloy radiator, alloy turbo cooler.

 

Don't think I'm doing to bad for some1 with a frontal lobe brain injury - apart from forgetting where I put everything :punish: !!! pmsl :happy001:

Hopefully engine in next week - so gonne be pretty busy over the weekend with painting the engine bay (tom/sat)

cheers ollie - but been a long time gettin there m8 with weather, bugs etc. prepped engine bay today so hopefully getting it in paint tomorrow & engine strapped in during the week so once its all up & running me & the ald fella are going to paint it - got to know the pop he's a geniune old school paint pro - I aint picked a gun up for ages but I'm sure he'll sort my cock ups out (fingers crossed)

 

TBH yours is progressing nicely & b4 you know it, it'll be right (& me wants to see)

 

PS If you want your rocker cover polished bring it down with you next visit m8 - TC

This year IS the return of the Mk 3's LOL

 

 

When I first joined here in 2006 there was only a handful

of mk3's in the club, but in the last six months the number

have steadily increased some of them are being restored

to their former glory, others like mine are being lovingly

cared for and enjoyed, this is really good as these cabs

are becoming rare now and also for me they are part of the

British automotive heritage.

 

SO IF YOU HAVE A MK3 ENJOY IT, LOVE IT AND

WHATEVER YOU DO NEVER BREAK HER UP.
