first what manifold dose you zetec have big metal one with efi on top or a plastic black one ?
second have you a pic of the throttle body or know what its off ie escort or mondeo ?
dont need to change any wires on the ecu .....
thay never put the late black top in the escort only the silver top wich is the one you wont
we always put in throght the top engine and box bolted together
EEC IV sensor and control unit, i thought that was efi ? ie 90 onwards
k tronic is the 88 xr3i ?
anyway i would say mechanical problem and not electrical ...... and yes take it back to them as its there problem
mounts you will have to find some then mod to fit ....good luck with useing the v6 loom hope your good at wireing
if changing to manual you will need gearbox, flywheel, cluch, hydrolic releace bearing, hydrolic pipes and slave cilinder gearchange cable and gearchange ......
thats the small list to start with ..... bigest problem you will have is driveshafts

gearbox has to be the mondeo mtx75 ie the v6 box ...... and engine mounts will have to be custom ones
what hubs and driveshafts would you use ? would you use the v6 engine manigment?
ok do you want a turbo ?
if so fester turbo
zvh forget it as wast of time imo to be honest
or cam throttle bodys exshuast chip and a fue bits and you 1.8 will have 160 plus bhp
any way you go it will be a loom change or splice or stand alone manigment ....unless just moding the 1.8
the 2l zetec will not be a straigt fit without changing the flywheel sump oil pick up pipe and water pump ......
first thing to do is work out how much you want to spend then double it ....lol
plus you will have to think about mot and emishions more so on the mk6
