If the temp is not moving up, check that the cab have a thermostat, if it has one it is quite possible that it is faulty and stuck open. I do not think this is related to the misfire.

I replaced mine a couple of years ago as it was also very noisy, sorry to say but the new one was quiet from day one. One thing you did not mention, is your pump outside or inside the fuel tank,on the mk3 it's outside. No point putting the old one back, eventually it will start stalling the car, it did that to mine.

Mine is very similar to what Uncle Henry fitted prefer to hear the music then the exhaust. Still saying all this the old girl still have a raspy angry sound when I push her up the revs on second gear, not very often I do this but sometimes it's good to clear the cobwebs.

Unfortunatley you get all sort of cowboys then it's up to us to give these cars the time they deserve.

Agree, I will be replacing my tyres in a few months time and will be getting Toyo T1R'S apart from being good they look great too.
