  1. IIRC it is 3 bolts either side, then electrical connectors for heated rear windscreen. Should be in Haynes manual/Ford TIS
  2. I would check the fuses and relays to make sure that it is 100% the motor not working. Does it make any sound when powered. Best place to check for them is ebay.
  3. Just looked at their prices and it seems very high compared to everyone else

    Roof

Go for mohair, they last longer, vinyl gets cuts from stresses within as few years.
  5. I would go, but in the Focus, haven't taken the Escort there since around 2006 or 2007
  6. Some used ones on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=escort+cabriolet+window+regulator&_sacat=0
  7. One is triangular the other is splined with around 8 splines. Identifiable by the pressure pipe locations and looking at the shaft where it connects to the steering column.
  8. looks like plastic has come off
  9. I think that is a bit unfair to say about them. They probably get thousands of emails every day, plus I assume they are busy people and have a life outside of their job.

  11. Sounds like its the wiring between the ignition switch and the starter motor, switch live.
  12. I got mine from an Audi dealer, same VW group, around 2 years ago.
  13. I had post it here some years ago, There is one relay to remove, once done the roof can be raised and lowered at any ignition position.
  14. I think there is a few K reg mk5b badged as XR3i in 1992 just before it was changed to Si (exactly same spec) in other European countries it was left as XR3i until the mk6.
  15. Mine doesn't have PATS or airbag. There was a time in 1994 that both were built together. The ones with airbag, PATS, also have mk6 seat frames and the dashboard clock cluster is different with a bit for the airbag light. The fusebox was also different code.
  16. I agree with the others on this. It would be hard to get all the drive train etc and expensive now to change it into a cossie cab. Better of restoring it to standard.
  17. Looks very clean, I guess it hasn't hardly been driven.
  18. OK re-posted using imgBB. fedup of using tinypic, flipping slow and as you see the links just mess up so fast, not to mention the gazillion adverts.
  19. They normally crop up on ebay, although it is usually the regulator and motor all in one sold. It is always those last two teeth worn out due to the top of the window pressing against the door frame when opening and closing the door. Other newer cars get around this by lowering the window a bit when the door is opened and only goes up around 2 seconds after it is closed.
