  1. Mk5 got a bit more zip with the upgraded fuel regulator,k&n induction kit ,change to Bosch plugs and small exhaust upgrade. It's still not great and you really have to thrash it in the lower gears, but it is a lot better. I even feel a bit more confident when I pull to pass other cars now. It will do for now and sounds raspy too.

    Engine Hoist

Less members, cars were only good for six years later cars not as popular, land rovers been going since late forties, bit of a difference !
  3. So you won't be recommending them to cabriolet club members then.
  4. We as a club are not attending lee ,I think you are to late to get a ticket from the organisers.
  5. Twin down draughts would do the job,and sound awesome ,but be a bit juicy lol
  6. It's not the engine, early models were fine,my mfi runs like a dream as is throttle responsive,it's efi system and power steering that has made the engine underpowered.
  7. Mine is running a bit quicker since i took the cat off, upgraded the fuel pressure regulator and fitted a kn air filter, prob not as good on fuel tho
  8. You can see what i was on about now,i have also been looking into upgrades without puttting in the 1.8 zetec i have laying around. Looking on various sites i am told if you change the pistons from a fiesta/escort rs,fit a turbo thats pretty much it except the ecu controler i think needs upgrading. This comes to quite a few quid tho when you add it all up. Cheap zetec is prob cheapest option
  9. Check inside the thermostat housing, there is a small valve which gets blocked/gumed up perodically, this advice comes from a senior ford technician i know. All cvh engines do run hot,i fitted twin fans on my rs turbo, wired one to thermo and one to a switch on the dash which i turn on as soon as i get in a traffic jam so the temp stays cool ,the only prob with this is the fan does tend to drain the battery so you need to keep your battery well charged. Good luck.
  10. If you are interested there was a nice two tone cab selling on eBay ,the girl was selling for her uncle and put a post on here asking what to sell it for. It had half leather with low miles and one owner.
  11. I have a tennis, I don't think anyone knows how many were actually built, most seem to be late F reg or early G mine was reg sept 1989. Cars came with no body kit, but you could probably had that fitted as an extra. Half leather recaros with Zolda fabric, cosworth style lattice 14" wheels and electric roof and Ariel all come as standard. All cars were white with white roof and cover and a thin green stripe down the sides of the body. As for prices, depends on condition,a good one with good history may be 3-4K that's private sale,if it's a classic dealer could be double that.
  12. Am glad getting hit by the bike did,not ruin your day tho m8
  13. Yea not bad since you missed 2 hours sleeping lol
  14. Great, hope that is your answer
  15. Yea,take plugs out and pour a bit of petrol down the bores ,replace pugs and leads and turn it over to see if it fires up
  16. Also check all the small hoses around the throttle body for air leaks,if one is perished or split it wont start or run right
  17. When u crank the engine over a few times have you taken the sparkplugs out to see if they are wet from fuel. If realy dry then it must be fuel
  18. You could try dwayne (maido) he is up in the north east,he breaks old cabs, might have a set on the shelf. Send him a pm.
