My old Mk3 dash is taking up room now and getting in my way so I was gonna bin it but just not sure if it's in a sellable condition It has a few cracks above the instrument cluster and thats it for cracking and the radio area is shot to bits. Just need to see if anyone thinks it would be worth selling it really.

Found my problem my gauge needs a sender that has 2 wires not the 3 wire one rare as rocking horse poo.

Another thing I was wondering is I know there were 2 different sized senders for the Mk4, Where they matched to different looms and clocks? As there are 2 different clocks mine is the fuel gauge on the left was wondering if they needed a certain sender to go with the gauge. :wacko:

This is my sender unit and goes into the top of the tank. So if its not working then it must be an earth or dodgy looming.

Right so after looking it would appear that I am missing a few relays from fuse box but don't know what colour or how many, But I have Headlights and one Main beam missing when turning my lights on so something is wrong. Here is a pic of mine. And does anyone know where to get relays from or is it old ebay for me.

Gauge goes all the way down so swapped the wires and it went all the way up. :/ I think I have a mk4 sender big sized one too.

I wouldn't strip it down until you have eliminated all possibility's any breathers blocked at all? Worst case is that a piston has had a ring go.

I still got my cleaning gear got enough to last ages with this shoddy motor mate it never goes anywhere so I leave it brown and dirty.
