ive got a 1990 efi cabby and the tappets are quite loud was gunna just replace wiyh standard cam and tappets. But was thinking bout geting the head reconditioned and poss ported and polished a better cam and tappets ? has ny 1 done theres ? and what was the results like? cheers lee

New to the site - but here goes! My Mk5 1993 xr3i cabriolet suddenly cut out on me this summer. Having been recovered, my local mechanic tried to find the fault and ended up 'hotwiring' the fuel pump to make her fire. Hi,battery was not charging so bought a brand new alternator,once fitted it seemed to be charging but at night with the lights and heater on the battery light was just faintly glowing,the mullti meter says it's chucking just over 13v with just the engine running but with the lights and heater on it's only showing 12.5 so don't think it's charging as it should.Now for the stupid bit........I had an alternator of an austin metro in the shed that is the same shape + same connections on the back so
