I've used power steering oil (STP) and having removed the nut, run it down a small screwdriver blade. I replaced the nut and manually raised and lowered the roof a few times to make sure that the level showed "full" when it was open or closed. Roof works a treat now. Cheers Ian Mk5b Si

managed to get the top panel off so i could get to the blower motor cleard all debris it was easy realy, just remove 4 hidden screws on the panel,undo nescessary wiring on harness and battery,i removed wiper motor for easy access and it just slides out nice n easy,no rust or signs of leaking into car,   now i croosed a live wire from battry to blower motor and it works[so it aint the motor???]   i then crossed a live from battery to the switch and the fan works[so im guessing the switch is
