Guest southern lass
Hiya. :big_wave: I have a mk5b with a roof problem. Problems:- As posted previously, it is leakin badly both sides which leaves me with two wet seats. When I put hood back up, the rear scuttle seal (I think thats what it is called) is going with it on passengers side. Seal is refusing to go back on properly. As I am new to cabbying, I do not know how to rectify the problems and I am searching for answers so that I don't look at t**t in the hot weather driving about in a 'soft-top' with the roof up, or when putting hood back up when reaching my destination and having to unscrew and put everything back together with a screwdriver. I am looking for someone who knows the answers and will look at my cab for me and is willing to help. Thank you, S.L

Guest markeyboy
the seal that keeps lifting up, is it the 1 around where the roof meets the back of the car, if so i think it is the same as what min used to do, there is a little lip on the inside of the seal that needs ro hook under a bit of body work on the inside, mine was a bit out of shape and would not sit on correcvtly, i put a dapob of superglue on and held it in place untill it dried, been fine 4 about 6 months so far

Guest southern lass
Thanks. I used to complain when the weather was nice n others still had their hoods up, now I see a different picture. Maybe they are having problems too, or just poppin round the corner. But I still hate not being able to got topless in this warm spell we're having at the moment, :convertible_mazeguy: they don't last for long...lol. I'll keep ya posted. Guest southern lass
Hiya. Woke up this morning to a paddling pool in the cabby... , in the back footwells aswell as the front this time. I have managed to sort of 'sort' the rear seal...but where the hell is all this water coming from? I have just rang around to find door seals and a replacement rear seal to no avail. Apart from 'Ford', but I don't really want to pay just short of £100 for new if I can sort it another way. I want to replace hood, but not whilst I am having these problems. So can anyone please help a wet and frustrated cabby owner? S.L
Guest southern lass
Hiya. Just got back from shoppin and to add insult to the injury, so the saying goes; I opened a bottle of drink in the cab and yes you guessed it...it bloody fizzed everywhere... :happy001: . So I now have a wet and STICKY cabby. S.L
Guest southern lass
Can anyone help?!?!?! I have had a number of suggestions...tightening roof catches, replacement door seals, levelling the windows etc etc. But; Tightening of roof catches and leveling windows: a number of ya have said not too, and that it doesn't make a difference, why? What do you suggest then? Shall I take the easy option and go to Ford and opt for the new seals and hope for the best that this sorts it? Escort Cabriolet Club
I would just go to your Main Ford dealer and explain all the problems, they should be able to sort you out as we cant realy see exactly what needs doing to stop it getting wet !!! As for a roof, try: www.carhoodsnorthern.co.uk As for the fizzy/sticky problem, I recomend a cup holder lol !!!
