hi guys, prob the wrong forum to post about exhaust but didnt know where else to put it

any way my prob is that ive put a new downpipe on emily as the old one was cracked and blowing, now the new one looks great and sealed fine, untill i drove it. now ive been trying to get it to seal for weeks and its fine till i take her out, i also noticed that my system only has one rubber throughout (at the backbox) arnt they ment to have more than this? i think this is my prob,

any one got any ideas?

thanks Dan.

am missing a rubber roughly about level with the rear springs where the exhaust U-bends on the last 3 of my cabby's I noticed looking a RScabs 2 tintops the had mounts there. ive ended up making a temp bracket to hold it in place seems to do the job hope this helps

is there not supposed to be a mount about level with where the doors close and meet bodywork? surely my downpipe will never seal with all the weight hanging from the manifold and backbox????

you have a two into 1 down pipe then onto a flandge with two nuts and bolts check the down pipe side as they crack due to front gear box mount movment . hanging hooks ony one hanging hook on centre box rear the inner sill then one more on the back box to the floor the other one on the u bend is for the 90 spec cabs and rs turbos hope that helps

ive got the hanger underneath for the u bend but no mount welded onto the exhaust itself  looks like someone has took it off for a later model maybe

ive tried one of these bodged onto the cars hanger but its not working very well

Try your local motor factor, ask if they have a Bosal exhaust catalogue you could browse through. You should find a bracket to do the job in there.

ok, the downpipe is 2 into one, with 3 nuts and bolts which are all fine, i guess the next step is to find out what mounts i have on the underside of the car, in guessing the whole exhaust system has been played with because as i say i only have the one mount on the back box.
