Guest Gregg
Hi, I have just replaced my water pump and now I am unable to get the cam belt tight. I have tried and tried but the belt seems still loose. I am unable to twist it more then 90 degree which I believe is not right. My car is a mk4 mfi xr3i. Please help. Guest Cabbytech
As Paul said, you should be able to twist it upto 90 degrees, there must be a prob with your tensioner or your not getting enough leverage on it before tightening up the bolts. RobMk4TwinCarb
I usually use a crowbar on the end of the tensioner nearest the bulkhead to get it tight, im an animal I know.

Guest Gregg
All got sorted today. Everything wasn't quite aligned properly. Used a pry bar and all seems well now. Thanks for your help.
