Guest Mousey
its really slow, nothing compared to my old 2.0 3 door. now as soon as i plug the maf in it cuts out immediateley. either a dodgy maf sensor or an air leak on the inlet manifold? sounds like their could be an air leak though when listening to the engine running. are these engines slow anyway? it has also been standing for a while..... any advice onm what problems to look for? Guest markeyboy
have you tried starting your car with the maf connected up? it could be a knackered one, as for air leaks, get a tin of wd40 and spay around the areas where you think a air leak may be, you will hear a change in engine tone/running speed the engine should be pretty pokey, if its been standing for a while it may benifite from a service
Guest Mousey
yeah im going to service it tomorrow, plugs oil and filter, fuel filter, taking off the silyl cone filter its got. the running issue, seems to splutter , moreso on full throttle, nota misfire but more like hesitation and lumpy running. as soon as the maf is plugged in it cuts out. Guest steelcabby
i spos it depends what your used too. i think the 130 is very slow. well compared to the rs2000 i had before it. but then i thought me rs2000 was mega slow. but i had a 2.1 turbo cabby before that. but it does sound like you got some issues with the running. so maybe its flat because of it. they do tend to hesitate abit. or seem abit flat in places. a chip will smooth that out. but best to sort out the running issues and air leaks first
Guest Mousey
found out the problem, 1.6 throttle body fitted! thought it looked tiny when i went to clean it, bought a 1.8 one from the scrapyard, much quicker now
