Guest MattsCabby
Right, i have just read that the 1.6 16v Zetec in my MK5 only pushes out 90bhp, not sure if this is correct ?? Now i need to increase the power from that lump, now i can either go down one of two routes. Either replace the engine completely and put a turbo lump in it or spend money on the current engine that is in there and get more power that way. now in each persons experiance what would be the best option, or could i convert the current lump to a turbo ?? So not very mechanically minded Cheers Matt
Guest markeyboy
there are so many routs that you can go down. you can swap your engine for a 2.0l zetec, thats not to much work, just pull one out o a mondeo, swap the sump oil pick up, fly wheel and water pump i think, and ecu. youll have around about 135 this way, for not to much money. ya got a zetec turbo, depeding on how much money ya throw at it depends on the power ya get, theres 2 people in the club who are geting alot of power ot of these at the mo rs turbo lumps are readily avaliable and fit relativley easy if ya want more power from your engine that ya got now try to make it breath a bit better, fit an induction kit or high flow pannel filter and a nice free flowing exhaust with decat and maby a nice set of lairy cams

Guest MattsCabby
the zetec turbo, as from what i have heard the zetec lump is better than the ZVH as it is stronger, however i would appreciate as much advice as possible regarding the differences though Cheers Matt
Guest markeyboy
the zetec is a better engine, having 16 valves will give it more torque at low revs, and can generally take more hell than the cvh, there are a few how too's about on the web for the zetec turbo take a look zetec-turbo.co.uk turbo.me.uk zetec ss1 im planning on doing the same to a 2.0l soon
