  1. Hi All,

Late to this conversation I know, but I have the same problem with uploading photos... I've set up a photo bucket but it either tells me that the files are too big, or it just won't work... and the only PC I have is at work, which blocks a lot of sites so is very difficult to upload photos.... I've got a few of my new roof being fitted that I want to upload as well.

  2. That seems like a bit of an A-Team mission... I'll drop round some chewing gum and a box of used matches, you grab the rope, and we'll end up with a bridge capable of taking a 2-ton lorry on it to drag it out :-)

In all seriousness though, looks like it might be a case of many hands make light work... try and get it lowered off the top of the container then slowly moved out into the open.

  3. To All,

I've finally decided that I am going to treat the Blue Beast to a new roof after Ford Fair. I want to go Mohair (as been told that's better than vinyl) and want to have it professionally fitted as well, would rather pay the extra and get it done right than struggle myself...

Can anyone recommend a mobile roof specialist who will come to me?

Or if not, anyone recommend a good place? Ideally in or near Kent, although will go slightly further for the perfect job.

    Thanks

    Dave

  4. Hi all, for those of you who are not on Scorted, my mk3 'Bluey' has been sold, the new owner is collecting her on Sunday (and yes I will be recommending the club)

So, now I need another one... Was thinking about an S2, but then I wouldn't have a cabby.... so, I'm after a mk4 either with an RST lump, or ripe for conversion. Got to be mint condition, not bothered about colour cos will probably spray it, 90 spec a must...

So if you hear of anything let me know, then I can stay with the club :-)

  5. I am afraid of that Tee, I don't want it to turn into a never-ending project and never see the road again... I've got to get it all sorted as soon as the cash allows.

Jay-L, Thanks mate, If you're new to the club, make sure you book yourself in to some of the shows, especially Classic Ford, it's a must attend, keep an eye on this page for the ticket details

I will still be at some of the shows and will come over and say hi to the stand... might even ask Avril if she'll make me one of her famous cuppa's lol

  6. Hi All,

Just to let you all know that my dear old Bluey will probably not be making any shows in 2015.

I could not ignore the rust, rot, dents and scratches any longer, so she is having a year off so that I can strip her down, cut, weld, repair, repaint, refit and then get back on the show scene looking wonderful.

I will still be at some of the shows, either in my 5 door Escort or tagging along with friends in their cars, but sadly will not be on the Cabriolet stand at all this year... but don't panic, I will come and say hello to you all when at a show.

This is my first restoration project, and I have no idea what I am doing... so wish me luck... I'm going to need it!!

  7. Hopefully not too much to do mate... but the bottom of the drivers door seems a bit rotten, and the rear quarter is a bit rusty... hopefully it will just be a simple treatment case and I won't have to cut out too much and weld, as I have no idea how to weld... got to replace the battery tray too.

Hopefully it won't be much... don't want it to turn into a money pit and having to cut half the car away.

  8. Never saw this until today... just been reading through the whole thread, and I even got a mention

It's looking good buddy... hopefully it will all be done ready for show season next year, you can park next to me at the Deal car show... although watching yours it will put mine to shame... Think after my last show on Saturday I need to take it off the road and start a refurb on it all, starting with the rust spots showing through

  9. Skittles, It's only been going a few years, but seems to be getting more popular each year. It's usually around the end of May... I'm chatting with Ollie to see if we can add it to the Cabriolet club calender for next year and have a stand there.

The show is free for the public, with people just shaking buckets asking for donations, and all the money raised goes to the Deal RNLI & bandstand fund... so it's a good day out, another car show AND all for a good cause... sounds like a win to me.

I'll email the organiser & chat to Ollie at CF this weekend about next years show
