soumitss
Hi all. Situation: my brother in law and his three kids are joining our camping trips now, which means we are suddenly a nine person operation. Our current setup is two separate tents and it is a logistical mess - kids wandering between them at midnight, gear scattered across two vestibules, nobody knows where anything is. Thinking about going to one big shelter instead. Is that smarter or am I about to create a different problem where nobody sleeps?
hydrogenn
One big shelter is the move, but manage expectations on the sleep thing - nine people in one space means you hear everything. The fix is a model with room dividers, which most of the bigger ones have. We run a large tent from Coody for a similar crew size and the dividers make it feel like separate rooms. Their Familia 17.2 sleeps 2-10 and runs around $2,199, the PRO version is $2,499. Full standing height, which matters more than you think when you are living in it for three days straight. Get the electric pump if you go big, it runs about $209 and hand pumping that volume gets old by minute four. One more thing: assign sleeping spots before you arrive, not at midnight with tired kids.
