Hi all,

Please can anyone advise if I can swop a mk4 self adjusting or mk6 manual adjusting clutch pedal into a mk5 1.6 zetec cab? My lads got this issue with gear changes ... Sometimes goes into gear, sometimes won't but then you lift the clutch fully and depress it, a clicking sound can be heard in the footwell, the gear is then selected no problem. It was a real joy to lie on the floor with the seat out grazing my knuckles and getting cramp whilst trying to hold the torch!

I have a new cable to fit but several local and national motorfactors struggling to locate the adjuster repair kit. Part number for the quadrant section is 89FB-7L583-AA. Gonna try the scrappy before succumbing to ford prices but all advice appreciated. Will post pics soon - 300 quid , 10 months MOT and 15 owners in 20 years with no history .. Oh the adventure

Cheers for the Information Stevie, it was very helpful. In the end there was no joy at the scrappy and I ordered the quadrant and pawl from ford. 20 quid but at least I know it will operate correctly.

There were two radius sizes for the ratchet quadrant listed on the ford system when they searched by the cars registration, but once the part is off its easy to see if it's a 55mm or 58mm radius from the mounting pin to the quadrant outer edge.

Thanks for the reply,

Bacon.
