Guest suffolk04 Posted October 30, 2012 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Not been on here for a while, but i need some help, its getting to the point where i've nearly had enough of the cab, but i will give it one last go...... Anyways, its the mk4 efi with the iscv on the throttle housing. i've just fitted a recon engine i brought from ebay( so no proof or details on the rebuild), but it did have new core plugs,gaskets etc. and the rocker valves and springs were nice and clean. So fitted the engine, but used my inlet manifold, because the setup on the recon was the earlier efi type, so all the original sensors apart from coolant temp sensor was swapped over. The car pulls well, but cuts out when warm when braking/coming to a stop. i've done base idle and ecu re-learn, but didnt do anything. sprayed all hoses and manifolds with brake cleaner, no air leaks either. And the emissions are way out, too much o2. Co-2.66 co2-10.00 o2-5.5 hc-0847 With tps disconnected. co-1.45 co2-12.4 o2-269 hc- 0557 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest suffolk04 Posted October 31, 2012 Share Posted October 31, 2012 Cleaned idle screw and put the old coolant temp sensor back and reset base idle, will be testing emissions tomorrow morning, fingers crossed it works, it's getting more expensive on fuel now, and cutting out at roundabouts and traffic lights is getting a little bit too dangerous for me. Guest suffolk04 Posted November 18, 2012 Share Posted November 18, 2012 Really ran out of ideas now, I've changed coil,plugs,leads,iscv,air and coolant sensors,map,tps,crank sensor and ecu.
