howdy folks, its been a while since last on but car is almost ready to rock and roll. However since last starting the car 2 years ago i have encountered a problem. The car is a 1990 escort xr3i EFi.

I tried to start the car yesterday only to find that the pump isnt priming or running. Checked interia fuel cut off switch and changed fuel filter anyway so looking for some info on testing or fixing the problem. Any help as always greatly appeciated.

There's a topic further down you might want to check out called 'Mk4 Mfi Cabriolet' where it describes directly wiring the pump from the battery to prove if it works or not

Cheers for the reply bud, mines is efi with the pump built into tank. Anyhow ripped the lot out last week for testing and cleaning, ofcourse i already tested ALMOST everything before going down that route, however the only bit that wasnt tested was the only bit that the garage done for me a while back, costing £129 for a new fuel cut off switch and loom (10cm). turns out it was there connetors to my loom at tank underneath that were at fault, unbelievible..... anyhows cheers.
