Guest motion Posted February 25, 2012 Share Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) Well my gear box shat it self on Friday got no drive at all there was a bang then it will only roll if the clutch is in but let the cutch out it sounds like a load of bricks in a washing machine even in neutral and idiling. fancy uprating the box a wee bit but don't want to pay the earth any suggestions for a different box that can be used with the s1 engine or different internals I can use any help appreciated Thanks Edited February 25, 2012 by motion Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Lee81 Posted February 25, 2012 Share Posted February 25, 2012 Uprated boxs are available in ib5 format. The main weakness is the main shaft bearings which is what is uprated. There around £700 on exchange. Should be good for 250bhp. After that your into quife gear kits which will take 350bhp but add 2K to the price. Standard gearboxs cope quite well up to the 200bhp mark and are prity cheap.
