Guest mass1v
Have just put new plugs and leads on my 1.6 8v efi cabby looked at the old ones and they are an orange colour. It has not run quite right since taking it from my mums garage which had been there 4 years without moving. It has now got a slight misfire or judder when travelling at a constant speed usually around 30mph which is just about everywhere. Have replaced coil pack leads, sparkplugs, speed sensor, and a few other sensors. now i have tiese orange sparkplugs ?? but have no idea. Any assistance would be very appreciated
Guest sirtrhud
Hi Mate, Had this problem with mine.. Has the car done a lot of idling? If so it is normal. I would check the timimg and if it is wondering (as mine was) then a new distributer is required. I also had a mixture fault which when corrected stopped the judder. Hope this helps.... Guest bobbybear1972
Stale fuel which would also contribute to missfire
Guest mass1v
I have been using the car for the last 3 months with a full tank a week so the fuel should no longer be stale.I was wondering if it could be injector related as it is about the only thing I have not changed. it's had a full service every filter other than the air as it's got a piper cross filter but will steam clean it tomorrow as it looks abut manky. All input is good gives me more ideas thanks

Guest mass1v
The car has had a flat battery for most of the 4 years in storage. After 3 years i bought a now battery and disconnected it after starting it for a run. Have never heard of limp mode ?? Is there a procedure to get it to turn off ? Thanks
Guest mass1v
Does anyone know if tiis white plug (next to air horn relay) should be plugged together or not? Car was originally a mk3 mfi but chopped and changed it quite a bit now its a mk4 efi. At the moment its unplugged (made it run slightly better) Any input is good thanks
