Guest fimbo xr3i Posted August 14, 2011 Share Posted August 14, 2011 just rented a large unit lockup will be putting a couple of bays aside for the rebuild restoration,been out today and started collecting bits,got a mint 1 year old complete roof,mk 4 88 spec full interior and boxes and boxes of handy parts all for a bargain price of 90 quid hopefully tommoro i will be starting the resto my aim is to bear shell as much as poss and prep ready for paint,remove the engine and fully rebuild or look at dropping a mk1 1.8 mondeo engine in on carbs,fitting a full s1 rs bodykit,sourcing a new dash or if it can be done fit a mk4 dash was thinking of painting yellow but looking at some mk3 pics i quite like the red but with rs 1600i decals butwill prob change my mind and go with the flow lol will get some pics tommoro Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest fimbo xr3i Posted August 16, 2011 Share Posted August 16, 2011 had a bit of spare time today (very rare) so took scrappy down to the unit and got carried away,it will be off the road now for a short spell wont let me upload pics at mo basically removed front and rear bumpers,bottom front valance,front and rear lights etc,window rubbers wing mirrors,full interior except dash needs some work but overall very susprised on how good it is,as soon as i can sort pics out will put some more on Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest fimbo xr3i Posted August 19, 2011 Share Posted August 19, 2011 loads more work done on car today.removed the roof and boot and rear windows and all other parts,then set to it with a grinder and wire brush attatchment,removed as much rust as i could see on rear of car and front valance treated everything in kurust but got a few holes now to get welded up,will add pics when i get home from work tonight/morning Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
