gingergman
pic is tiny, but looks like a fuel safty cut off to me, altho im not hot on mk5s, if it is there on the late efi mk4 modles, and you can cut it out and just join the two wires together. but dont take my word for it, hopefully someone witha mk5 can shed some light
Guest Benji78
Sorry for small pic!! I think your right that its a safety switch, Should the pump continually run?? Thanks for quick response
gingergman
yeah the pump has to run continusly or the engine will get no petrol and the car wont run! how many wires go into that switch?
Guest Benji78
Will check in the morning how many wires are connected,
Guest Jack Tar
when you turn the ignition on you should hear the pump prime for about a second or so then you shouldnt really hear anything more from it. The little box with a red button on it on the drivers side kick panel is the fuel cut off. whilst engine is running press the red button and hold it and the engine will cut out. Where in hants are you? im just outside of pompey
