Guest Justin
Hi all, My front electric windows work fine on the switches, but dont do the 'one touch down' which they used to do. My rear windows dont go up or down at all on either set of switches, front or backs or the 'magic button'. (i have a mk5b with the button which winds them all up/down at the same time) They were all working fine earlier when i put them all up using the 'magic button', but now nothing. The 30a fuse in the fusebox is absolutely fine, just checked. Any thoughts? Is it going to be the relay that controls the one touch town/all up/down functions? Thanks
Guest Savage
Have you checked the button furthest back (lightning bolt in a red square) hasn't been pushed in?
Guest Justin
Yep, checked and pressed/unpressed it. That only affects the two switches in the rear, not the 4 in a row at the front, and its the two switches in the middle of the four, which do the back windows, which arent responing along with the magic button.. the auto-down function doesnt work either.. Id guess its something to do with either the magic button or the relay, but im just clutching at straws.. Anyone else with a mk5/6 experienced this? allblue
I am working on a project to convert my cab to power rear windows, since my MK6 cab only has manual winders. Thanks Ford!! MK5 and MK6 rear window wiring is different. But I guess they all work on the same principle. Does your windows all go up together on the touch of one button? When I was looking at the loom I got hold of (MK6 elec windows *4 loom) there is a purple wire that goes to an area around the drivers kickwell area. This wire goes to a 40amp fuse and then goes somewhere else (not sure). This additional urple wire is not present on cars with manual rear windows. I have recently constructed a wiring diagram for the elec windows as Haynes manuals do not have wiring diagrams for cars with rear elec windows. From my wiring diagram this purple wire seems to feed all four relays which control the one-touch function. Maybe the fuse has blown? I cannot advise where exactly this fuse sits since I brought the loom on ebay. It is not part of the main fusebox.
Guest Justin
Yep, all go up and down on the touch of the magic button. Might have to remove some trim from the drivers side area and see what i can find. I presumed it was a fuse, give how suddenly it stopped working, but there is only one 30a one in the fuse box which controls the fronts only and that hasnt popped. Will get investigating and let you know what i find..
