Mk 6 Audio Wiring

hi guys just wondering if any 1 knows what the hell is happeing with these damn wires im at my wits ends now bought the car off ebay tried to fit a deck grabbed the wires and discovered few not connected an i aint got a clue what aint connected an what is, im fine with the speaker cables but these little bunch im not sure of as you can see the 2 that aint connected is a blue 1 an a yellow with a red stripe down it think the later is constant 12v an the other is antenna remote but no sure what to connect them to, i had a fiddle myself yesterday an practicaly set my deck on fire smoke every where so needing a new 1 now :sad: please help before i accidently set my car on fire with these wires lol

Hi, as I remember this, your blue is for the powered arial and yellow is positive feed. My yellow I ended up connecting to the red and didn't bother with the blue , as my arial is a manual one. Hope this help, Tony

hi mate thanks for the reply, but i aint got a red to connect it to ive got a green with a blak stripe a are a orange with a black stripe and a blue with a white stripe if that makes any sense at all lol

I'm pretty sure that; green with black is an Earth, Orange and black seem to be illumination which link to ignition and Blue and white is the electric antenna. Try those combos out. I'm 99% on this, but been a while.

I can see you have a yellow and green then a orange and black. I would treat the orange and black as earth then the yellow as live feed. Then try to see if you have any life in your unit i.e what works and what dosn't. For me after this I would cut all wire back to the original and start again, otherwise you end up trying to sort out too much crap!!

hi guys thanks for the replys, did try switchin a few other wire about but more smoke come out, think ill try an find an old escorts in the scrappys an snip the connectors an wire them back up that way, other wise its going to need deep pockets frying these decks lol
