Hi there all. You may have seen my topic regarding Classic car service and the poor job on my mohaair roof.

Having taken the car to Hubards upholstery in Loughbrough they comfirmed that the hood had been fitted incorectly and the only way to rectify it was to fit a new hood. Here comes the problem. because the rear window is fitted to high up the rear window pops out when the hood is put down. well it used to but the screws pulled out of the side rear quaurter so the rear of the hood has gone slack.

What I need is for any body with a mk5 or 6 cabby to measure the distance fron the upper edge of the body seal to the lower edge of the rear window seal and post it to me. so that the retrimmer can reset the window at the correct hieght when he replaces the hood cover.

Cheers all. Malc

I've just measured mine and the M(94) plate mk5 plasticy roof & P(96) mk6 mohair are differing heights. Not entirely sure on what you were after, but the:

94 measuring from the top of the rubber above the center popper to the bottom of the rubber at the base of the glass (MEASUREMENT A) is 10cm. From the bottom of the rubber below the popper to the bottom of the rubber at the bottom of the window (MEASUREMENT  is 12cm.

96 MEASUREMENT A - 9cm & MEASUREMENT B - 10.5 CM.

I will try to upload the images of the tape against the window, but I'm struggling. Alternatively, message me your mobile no and I'll send the images as picture message.

Hope this helps.

Chris
