Hi all,,,i little help is needed once again,,my heater in my mk5a cab,,,has stopped working on the 3rd setting,its fine on 1 and 2,,but its stopped working on the 3rd,it was working perfectly,,any body know how to fix this,,thanks in advance

Probably a dirty or worn contact within the rotary switch. The Black/Green wire coming from the switch is the third speed setting. The switch can sometimes be repaired if it's worn with a blob of solder on the contact point.

dunno if fords are the same as vw,s but they have a resistor moduel thing under the dash in the fan housin that controls the heater settings....... if it packs up you lose your heater speeds. :wink:

The escort uses two resistors for the fan speed. The first switch position the current passes through both giving the slowest fan speed. Position two the current passes through just one of the resistors giving a faster speed. The third position the current goes directly to the fan motor giving the fastest speed. As the fan works in the first two positions and not the third I would guess it's the switch itself and not the resistors. Hope this helps.
