Guest kazcastle Posted May 22, 2010 Share Posted May 22, 2010 on wednesday morning my car wouldnt start it was completely dead my husband got me a brand new battery and fitted it and it sarted fine, went to go out today(saturday) and the car is dead again absolutely nothing no lights on dash no click on turning the key not even power getting to the clock but the battery is fully powered originally we thought something was draining the battery but the battery is actually fully charged we took a few wires off earlier to see what they were and if they had any affect and it started so we thought we'd found the problem even though the stereo wasnt working with this wire off so we put it back car started again so it wasnt that one, but hey the car was starting so must of done something right. just went to start it again and dead!!!!!!!! please help we are wondering if it could be the immobiliser but why would that shut all power off to everthing including the clock Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Lee81 Posted May 22, 2010 Share Posted May 22, 2010 Sounds more like a dodgy connection somewhere. Possible burnt out fusebox. Get the multimeter out and start testing circuits and inspect the fuse box for water ingress and burning out. Also check main connecting cables to battery. Guest kazcastle Posted May 28, 2010 Share Posted May 28, 2010 thanks for replies my husband has cleaned all the earth leads he can find and we have found that when the car is completely dead if we remove the neg battery lead and replace it, it will start straight away after him cleaning the earths its been ok now for almost a week then again today got in and nothing all dead no power to anything no even the clock luckily i had my trusty spanner removed neg battery lead replaced it and boom she fired (very strange) my husband suggested we get some of those anti static strips and you never know might not be the worst idea hes ever come up worth a go electric is funny stuff Now he wants me to get it fixed and sell it hes got the hump with it :-( (i Dont want to) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
