Guest corrie Posted May 2, 2010 Share Posted May 2, 2010 hi guys im new on this forum. i have just bought a mk5 convertible and it had a few electrical problems but sorted them all out exept one of them which is the rev counter. when i turn the ignition on it jumps up then goes down to 100rpm before i start the car, when i do start it it sits just above 3000rpm and hardly moves when the engine is revved up. i have had the clocks out to check connections and they seam ok but the clocks have been out before by previous owner possibly looking for the same thing. what im wondering here is has he tipped them the wrong way and broke them or is there something else a lot simpler here that im missing? Guest georgeking Posted May 2, 2010 Share Posted May 2, 2010 I would get a new tested set or go to scrapy with your clocks lose so you can unplug them and ask if you can test them in your car before you buy if someome has tryed to fit dial kit then the clocks are junk Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
