Guest joshxr2
Hi guys just thought I'd show some piccys of my car as it has progressed over the years. Started off 4 years ago as a very nice £600 XR3i, fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. Just after i got it home had to clean it. Had a look round the battery tray and it was minty mint. Looking a little dirty and horrible. The modifying bug soon took hold and got a nice set of sapphire cos wheels from my mate for £200 looked really nice I do like to clean it lol. Then it didn't really look right so a turbo kit was needed, good old ebay coming up trumps with kit and bonnet for £50 But there are no pics of this Ran around like this for 2 years with the addittion of boot spoiler and black roof. Then disaster strikes and the cam belt snaps in the middle of nowhere. Decision time new xr3i engine or turbo it? Yes the turbo won and as it happen i had another turbo'd cabby in my garage. The only trouble was the cam belt snapped 2weeks before I started a new job away from home, so roped in the help of my mate and within the week we had it up and running. Happy happy days. Sorry for lack of pics but was in such a rush didn't have the time to do any. Carried on to modify the car with new intercooler and alloy rad Did this before a weekend up at Shakespear County Raceway also added the cosworth front brake upgrade at the same time. Was very inpressed with the car as it ran low 15s runs all day. As the car stands now it runs 180bhp with 195lbs/ft torque Koni Adjustables soon to be Gaz Coilovers Willwood 4pot Calipers 300mm Rotors Quickshift Kit Can't wait to get up Shakey and Pod this year hopefully all the work will see me sub 15's. Guest joshxr2
the cab is no moew got shipped off to the scrapper months ago now. was a shame as someone had invested alot of time and money in the body kit. The whit cab will live on for years to come treating it to new doors and obviously the coilovers in a few weeks time. Then it will be a case of tidy the body work and we'll be sorted. Guest joshxr2
Well seen as I have 3 weeks of leave i got stuck in with replacing the head gasket getting the head skimmed and replaing the cam as well. Started at 0830 on the sunday morning with this Ok i had taken the crossover pipe off but thats a 2 min job Moving on slightly A cheeky one of the new mounts And finally ending up like this at around 1100. Not bad for a mornings work. So then i decided to go all arty and spray cross over pipe inlet manifold and rocker cover hammered black Got the head back from the machinists too looking ver nice and clean And that really sums up my monday play time
