Guest DEG Posted December 29, 2009 Share Posted December 29, 2009 Hi all, New to the escort world just bought a 1.6efi cabrio 1990 and ive noticed i few things wrong. 1/ when i put the roof up or down the motor carrys on its as if the switch sticks. 2/my heated front screen switch doesnt eluminate/or work. any advise would be great cheers david Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Cabbytech Posted December 30, 2009 Share Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) I agree with the above, and generally find the switch sticks in a while when you first let go of it, i ended up replacing mine as it gradually got worse. As for the heated screen, does the screen actualy work ? if so it will prob just be the lamp in the switch, otherwise check as S6boy1979 has advised. You will need either a multimeter or a test builb/light. Unplug the wires at the side of the screen, turn the screen on and test to see if you get a live feed, also there is an earth piont behind the clock/light in the middle of the roof. so remove it and make sure if you are getting a good earth.
