Guest Haddow
went to fire up the donor car i bought to see what the engine is like running wise, got a new battery fired into it as its been lying about for about 2-3 years outside and never moved an inch. new battery in, wired all the terminals up and got ignition lights with the key still in my pocket, it all points to the wiring being the wrong way around in the battery wiring, but ive double and triple checked it, and got a mate to check as well to be extra sure and its all proper and ok..... am i expecting a knackered wiring loom from the car lying outside? or is there something else i should be looking for? doing my head in as i need to know this engines ok so i can get cracking and get my cabby running before winter time and get the engine bay finished off! cheers neil
Guest Cabbytech
I would look for water ingress probably in the fusebox, having been stood for all that time it could really be anything, try removing all the fuses, connect the battery back up and replace the fuses one at a time, you might be lucky and find which circuit/s are giving you problems, other than that its one of those jobs that would need a good looking at to resolve. Good luck.

Guest Cabbytech
Thanks m8, hope to be there by 11 ish, quite looking forward to it, see if i can get any good pics of mk 2 escorts or cabs if any there. Im just wondering if it might be an idea just to put fuses back in that are for the ignition circuits, keep it to a minimum incase there are any shorts or anything giving silly backfeeds to the ignition circuit.
