Guest Cabbytech
Hi mate, i have just replaced the stalk on mine for the exact same reason, and mine is spot on now, the main beam was sticking on, its deffo your switch thats had it, something like this one on ebay, BUT be careful, the windscreen wiper side has different functions on it, like intermittent wiper settings or just flick for one wipe, email the seller to make sure you are getting the same as you are taking out, hope this helps. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-ESCORT-MK5-MK6-INDICATOR-SIDE-HEADLIGHT-STALK-ARM_W0QQitemZ320436330334QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item4a9b7e5f5e

Guest magic rat
I don't think the different intermittent options make any difference (I have had both in my Mk5b) but rear wash wipe will pop fuses all day long. If ringing round scrappies, ask for cabby, saloon or van stalks as rear w/w was common (if not standard) on hatchbacks & estates. I picked up a van stalk for 3 quid from my local breakers and it takes a matter of minutes to change.
