Guest broombroom
Hi People. My Dads P reg Escort the fan has stopped working when it gets hot. so when he is stopped in abit of traffic the temps start to rise. I know its normally the sensor that causes this or sometimes the fan. He wants it wired up to a switch on the dash. Ive got a switch (leftover from my boyracer days hahaha neons tut tut)... I just wanted to know what was the best LIVE to use? i could run a fused wire straight from the battery but i'm guessing there is a wire of the ignition or something i could use? Please any help on this would be great! even help on how to change the sensor many thanks Martin

Guest markeyboy
you could take it off of the ignition switch, but its always better to run it off its own fused feed

Guest Lee81
Connect the switch between the two wires leading to the fan switch sensor. assuming this is at fault this will make use of the correct wiring as normally used. If it doesn't work it will indicated that the wiring is damaged and best to be replaced. Don't take it off the ignition as it will burn out the wiring over time. The fan uses around a constant 20 amps when in use.
