Guest kevspireites Posted June 18, 2009 Share Posted June 18, 2009 well its one thing after another at the moment i have a mk5b 1.8si that i have had a few problems with as of late i thought i'd sorted it but now when i turn off the ignition the fuel pump is still priming i have found the fuse that will stop it if i take it out whats the cause? fuel pump relay? if so which is that all help would be great as i'm starting to fall out with her Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest mikecurd Posted August 23, 2009 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Fuel pump is run by the ECU on these cars most likely cause is the relay. Check it by swopping it or test it. If you have a meter you can remove the relay and check whether there is a triggering voltage (pins 85 86?) if there is then you need to trace where it is comming from.
