Guest Dojomaster1984 Posted April 15, 2009 Share Posted April 15, 2009 Hi I need to get more power from my alt. I have an up rated Lucas now as i have a 1.6i XR3i Cabby. But i need more then it can put out. So i was wondering what is the max i can get out of this one, if it gets rewound. Or was wondering if anyone has just bought a higher other brand unit. Guest Dojomaster1984 Posted April 16, 2009 Share Posted April 16, 2009 I was going to get the solo baric so i am getting two or three optima batteries and so atleast one higher alt or two 150 amps would be nice to provide the power as i am not a cap man. If i could buy another Lucas and then send them both off to be re-wound to about 150-200 then that would be the way i would go. But i am not to sure how much force is required for a diesel alt under high load. I presume more torque is needed when using a diesel alt rather then a petrol engine alt, resuting in the higher AMP output. It looks like i have allot of thinking to do here LOL.
