Guest joshxr2
Recently repaced the old steering wheel with a 3 spoke rs version with push button horn. All worked well sometimes a little too well as when turning the horn would go off only occasionally but enough to annoy the hell out of you. To remedy this one evening i just disconnected the wiring at the multi plug by the ignition barrel. Now came to fix the problem today and when you push the horn it keeps blowing the fuse. I'm at a complete loss as to why it is doin this as it was working fine before is took the multi plug out. Any helpful idea would be much appreciated
Escort Cabriolet Club
Sounds like one of the wires you disconected is earthing somwhere, put it back together and get a new horn button as it sounds like its faulty !!!
Guest joshxr2
The thing is i've taken it apart put the old wheel back on etc etc and still blown fuses. And it is something that has litterally happen sice i disconnected the multi plug. Don't really wanna take the dash apart for a fooking horn but might have to at this rate. Guest Cabbytech
It sounds like a trapped wire too me shorting to earth as well. The fuse that protects the horn is F20 and it should be 15A, this also looks after the hazard warning lights, are these ok ? has any work been done on the indicator lamps ?
