Guest verdun Posted October 24, 2008 Share Posted October 24, 2008 Hello, looking for some advice and need to start at the basics. The roof on my Mk6 cab is not working. When I press the button I can hear the motor going but nothing happens. It was like this when I got it. I have just been putting the roof up and down manually but am getting lazy and thought might try and get it fixed. Any ideas what it could be? I've seen a thread on the pump and wondered if that was the likely problem. Is there any easy way of working out the problem bearing in mind my mechanical skills are best left with a mechano set! Guest jay Posted October 24, 2008 Share Posted October 24, 2008 mite sound stupid but is the tap closed on the pump? because if somebody had messed before you bought it, well if its not screwed shut it would give that symptom, other than that does sound like a pump/hydralic problem if the pumps working. Escort Cabriolet Club Posted October 24, 2008 Share Posted October 24, 2008 This is a common problem mate, it is the Cog inside the pump, it has worn out, the Club Shop has repair kits in Stock so get one of them or source a new pump from ebay or the scrappy !!!
