well its the best and easyest way ...... dont go the mk5/6 loom way as its to much work and restrics the engine
the mk4 1600 efi loom on the 1800 zetec 1 works well and 2 gives better power and touqe
also better for the mot as you have a higher emisions level then if you was using the mk5/6 loom and engine with the cat ......
let me know what where and when lol when your ready plus if you look in the engine tuning section there is some poasts about the zetecs and whats needed and so on .....
ok fella thanks for the help i'll contact ya when i'm up and running on the project i'll also post pics as i go so everyone can see what i'm doing and refer to it if they need.

ok theres one guy on here who is about to go the twin carb route but that will be useing a ecu to power the coil pack
what everway you go you will need a ecu ie efi mk4 one or aftermarket .......
the hardest part of doing a efi loom change it geting hold of the loom .....
i get what your saying i was going to look for a scraped escort with efi and take everything i need, i know a few lads that work in the scrap yards they said they'll bell me if one comes in.

i do like the look of the mk4 engine bay with the zetec in ........ i love looking back at what mine was like

very nice indeed i don't think mine will ever look like that i'm not a show type of man just want more power.do you know anyone who has
a zetec conversion with twin 40's or am i better to go down efi route (it seems thats what they all have)
and remember i have a 1.6 cvh carb at the mo.

markeyboy is right... i have just put a zetec engine in, and i am goign to put rst brakes on too.
have a look in the 'show us yours' sction as i have a thread i there with info and pics. regarding the brakes, you will need 15 inch rims, rst disks, capiliers and pads. they just bolt on.
cheers for that fella i'll have a look
still not sure what direction i'm going in but hey what the hell, nothing ventured, nothing gained
-
also just remembered ignition system as cvh has dissy and zetec is electronic.

hi gang
well here goes i have a mk4 1.6 carb and want to put 2 ltr mondeo lump(which i have in garage) in i know i need to replace sump, flywheel, water pump etc etc. what i need to know is fuel system? do i go for twin 40's or injection (what would i need to do this),
exhaust solutions (what best for this)and i'll need to upgrade brakes as well (it's no good going like s**t if you can't stop the bugger)
i'm pretty good with a spaner and have rebuilt a zetec after head gasket went, replaced clucth's and done straight forward engine swaps so i'm ready to take on anything just need as much advise to steer me in the right direction and pick up the views of those that have done this before...any help will be most welcome....

HI FELLA. YEA THE COMPANY WERE FLO-FLEX POLYURETHANE AND THEY HAVE AN EBAY SHOP. THEY DO MAKE A DIFFERANCE WITH EVERY THING BEING A BIT TIGHTER AND STIFFER AND THE QUILATY WAS OK, I WOULDN'T SAY BRILLIANT BUT THEN AGAIN YOUR NOT PAYING SUPER-FLEX PRICES. AND A FRONT STRUT BRACE WILL HELP BUT THE CAB'S HAVE A REAR ONE BUILT IN ALREADY SO DON'T BOTHER WITH THAT .

I am thinking of fitting all round poly bushes on 1984 MK as all the rubber ones have corroded (My fault as not driven in 8yrs).
Anyone have suggestions for below.
What are the best ones ?
Why fit them?
Where to buy them?
How much are they?
hi fella
this might help i brought some from ebay and paid £100 roughly for both sets front and back for my mk4
i think mk3 and 4 are the same,it might be worth a look. but remember you have to replace a lot more than just the bushes you really need to replace all balljoints as well i have done the front and replaced steering rack ,track rod ends and both lower arms costing about another £100 for pattern parts. and then you've still got to get your tracking redone.
-
now i know this sounds daft but i done it once on my mk4, have you had the track rod ends off i once in my wisdom put them back on upside down (ok you can stop laughing) the ends are tapered but they fitted so in my haste put them on. the car was ok untill about 40 then all over the place, i had the tracking done then drove round the block and it was miles out and it wasn't till i went to scrap yard to get another steering rack that i spotted the problem so just have a quick check.

yeah mate thats the right finis code i got one today

Zetec Exhaust
in Engine Tuning
Posted
hi peeps
well it's nearly time and i'm sorting out the bits i need for my zetec conversion on my mk4 and was wondering what exhaust systems you lot had fitted or seen? i was thinking of getting a zetec 4 branch manifold from ebay and then going to my local powerflo exhaust centre and getting them to make the rest but if theres an easier way i'll look at it.
