New upper and lower sumps are fitted, new timing belt kit, various other bits have been painted, starter motor is in position, bit of electrical work to carry out. Plenty to be on with while I wait for some other parts.

Sierra wheels springs to mind?

I reckon its a m12 thread, I might have one I can measure tomorrow as I think its with the gear linkage I've removed in favour of the new setup. If it helps I'm certain its a 19mm head and the bolt isn't threaded the entire length.

Today I had a bit of free time so have been doing a bit of spraying. All these little bits need doing and I need to get stuck into it all. Off over to Birkenhead this week one evening to get my new upper sump modified for oil returns and breather return.
-
Most if the gear change conversion done now, bit of paint on any exposed metal and it can all be bolted together, then I can see what's gonna need doing to the centre console. I'm making a plate from the aluminium for on the underside where the cables pass through.

I got a genuine Girling master cylinder Lee, 0.625 size.

Good update, I bet you was gutted when it happened.

Didn't realize Ian, it had a whole 4 messages in it. Has somebody been trying to message me?

Been on with the hydraulic clutch conversion last week, I was on holiday from work and should have got more done but couldn't be bothered. I've done the clutch pedal mods now too, just need to reassemble the pedal box, then get on with the gear stick conversion.

Trying to get some of the little bits done while I'm waiting to get the engine and box back out. Hard work when its really cold. Gearbox mount removed, etch primed, primed then black.

They are very simple to adjust the shoes as I described above, Its a tough one tbh pal, if your not 100% on what you are doing then its probably best ypu get some help with it, as the last thing you want is to end up with no brakes.
-
Hopefully that pic will help give you a understanding of how the adjuster operates.

Haynes is correct, slacken cable, adjust rear adjusters, once happy with that take the slack out of the cable and ONLY the slack Inside the drum between the shoes is a bar that has a worm and cam type adjuster, 1 part is fixed the other should move, it has a small spring on the moving part. The moving part can seize up which stops them adjusting, basically as the shoes wear they have to travel further and the auto adjuster SHOULD take up the slack. So you can use a couple of screw drivers to slowly pull the shoes outwards as if they were gonna press on the drum, keeping a eye on the adjuster go up a click or 2 at a time trying the drum on after each bit of adjustment until the drum just slips on with a very slight resistance when rotated. Before you start adjusting its worth making a reference mark for where the adjuster position is prior to altering anything, that way if you over adjust and can't get the drum back on you can de adjust and start again, this will probably make more sense when you are looking at the brakes. Also if you have a lip on the brake drum this can make getting the drum on and off/over the shoes a bit more difficult so its worth ginding the lip away. Last of all work safely pal, safety goggles, axle stands etc,

You will need to back the cable off fully at the lever and the remove the drums and adjust the shoes up. Providing the shoes are not worn and are in good condition.

Don't think he can do to much more until my engine is with him, so thats tomorrow nights task, just sorted temp insurance out for my pals zafira so we can put the engine in the back of that.
-
That's the mount gone that the engine used to attach to. Couple of bits gone from the nearside chassis leg, fuel filter is going to need relocating elsewhere.

Thats the car just arrived at the fabricators close to Birkenhead. Can't believe how long it is since I've updated this thread.
