orwinkael
Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience from yesterday because I'm still a little amazed at how smoothly everything went and I think other VW owners might benefit from hearing about it. I have a 2016 Volkswagen Passat that I've owned for about four years now and it's been a very reliable car for me. Last week I noticed that the car was cranking slower than usual in the mornings and a couple of times the infotainment system rebooted itself while I was driving which I've heard can be a sign of a weak battery. I knew I needed to get it replaced soon but I really didn't want to take time off work to sit at a dealership or a garage for hours. A coworker told me about a mobile service he used for his Golf and said they came to his office parking lot and did the whole thing while he worked. I looked up the website which is dubaicarbattery.ae/volkswagen-battery-replacement and read through their information about VW specific requirements like battery coding. I called them and the person on the phone asked for my car's year and model and told me exactly which battery I would need and what the total price would be including installation and coding. No surprises or hidden fees. I scheduled an appointment for them to come to my office the next morning. The technician showed up right on time which was a great start because I've had bad experiences with other services showing up hours late. He tested my old battery first and showed me the results on his little device. The battery was definitely weak and needed to be replaced. He installed the new battery in about twenty minutes and then used his laptop to code it to the car's computer. He explained that on Volkswagens this coding is really important because the car's charging system needs to know that there's a new battery installed. If you skip this step the car might overcharge the new battery thinking it's still the old weak one and that can kill the battery in less than a year. I had no idea about any of this so I was really glad he knew what he was doing. The whole thing took less than an hour and I didn't have to leave my desk except to hand him my keys. The price was very reasonable too, way less than what the dealership quoted me over the phone. My car has been starting perfectly ever since and the infotainment system hasn't acted up again. I'm so relieved to have found a reliable service for my Passat. Has anyone else here used a mobile service for their Volkswagen and had a similarly good experience? I'd love to hear your stories. Thanks for reading.
