Hi there, I currently don't have a cabby yet, so thought I'd join the forum to get some hints and tips as to what to look for.

I'm hoping for a reasonable MK3 model not majorly important, there are just very view that I've spotted North of the border in save-able nick.

I'll keep you all posted on my progress, I don't mind a running project, but I'd have to be able to drive it home....

Cheers and look forward to chatting to some of you!

Glenn

Apart from the rust in the inner wings and battery tray (and other places if you're unlucky) my experience was that when you get one be prepared to replace most of the suspension components as people seem not to bother and sell them when they're bad. Mine was a sub £1000 Mk3 though so my hopes were low to begin with but it was just about driveable.

Matt.

Cheers Matt, yeah I am expecting to have to work on one if I get one, and my previous experiences with Escorts in general I know about the battery tray. Suspension is something I would also be prepared to "work on" although my plan is to try keep it as standard as possible in the view of it hopefully becoming a modern classic. I have seen a nice mk4 so will plan to go look at that, but mk3 would be nicer.
