Hi All

I am Neil. I am both new to the forum and also a first time escort cabriolet owner. My new car is a mk3 1.6i CVH Breg 5 speed. I am hoping some one can give me some sage advice.

I am based in south birmingham area. I am look a local expert in these cars, specifically the CVH engine. She does dont seem to be running as well as she cold do. She seems to be a bit under powered and the tickover when cold is way to low. When warm it is fine, but it seems to way under shoot the RPMs before rising to a tick over. It is as if the engine does not know it needs to be on tick over, then suddley gets the message!

My first outing was fun (10 miles, 15 mins), but after sitting for about 1 1/2 hours, she failed to start. Turns over fine, but no fire. I thought she was fludded, but the plugs were dry. I abandond her for the night then came back in the morning with a set of new plug leads (I broke one checking the plug!). She fired first time!

I have read that a faulty fuel pump realy may be a cause, do you agree or may be a fault fuel pump.

Well, by for now and thanks in advance for any advice and words of wisdom

Neil
