Guest reary
Hi all Just been looking around on Ebay for some headlights for my Mk5 and came across a 1989 RS2000 cabriolet??? I didnt think Ford made one did they? Its listed as Escort RS2000 Convertible (Very Very Rare) I know people stick RS gear in em but this sellers description is a bit shonky I reckon apparently the RS engine was stolen and it was then fitted with a 1600 and has drum brakes on the back. If its legit I would have a bid to break for bits for my mk5 but just doesnt sound right to me. Thanks in advance Dale
Guest will_s1cab
get a link up so we can hav a look. 1989 would make it a mk4 anyways.
Guest reary
Thats what I thought. I mailed the seller asking if it had RS on the logbook and they havent replied. Shame would have yielded loads of bits for mine. Any way heres a link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300827534808?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Ah hang on he has replied to someone elses question, its on a Q plate and says RS Turbo on the logbook and was registered in 96. Guest Rustler
Well , there's no doubt that from your photo's its definitely a MK5 body... Not too sure when the first MK5 were produced, exept that they ran from 1990...so the very first models could have been late 1989. But as you've proved it's certainly not an original RS...BUT.. an inplant RS could be a bit nice!!!! ...............Rustler............... "The Oldest Cabbier"........... Guest will_s1cab
i had a re-think last nyt and could well be a very early H plate sep-dec 89 but id still stay well away
Vincygav
I smell bullshit, seems the person is listing it as something it isnt. It is just a bog standard 1.6. Person cannot even get the year right as the mk5 shape came out in mid 1990. First ones were on H plate. First ones were delivered around September/October.Person is just waffling to get it sold. It probably is a 1.
Guest Rustler
WELL !!!! .. I see that the suspect 1989 RS2000 sold for £310.oo ............Who bought it ??? Any one from "The Club" ?..............S'pect some one will make a reasonable profit on the spares if it's broken .. That RS2000 lump ..if it's a 2000 sshould command £200. / 250 notes....at least if it runs fairly well.. ...............Rustler.........."The Olest Cabbier"............
