Yeah- bit contentious what? My late Mk5 (my 3rd Escort cabrio) has 165k on it and I am looking for a replacement. As I don't like the Mk6 fishmouth any Mk5 is going to be old anyway and it must be a black si model for the rear discs, etc. there aren't going to be that many to choose from without rocket-ship mileages (must be <100k) at reasonable prices.

The Focus cabrio looks a bit lardy and will deffo need shorter springs, stainless exhaust and 19" wheels BUT will be newer...

Flame away- am I nuts???

Don't forget that the MK5 130ps 1.8cc XR3i cabbies also had the rear discs , and, as a bonus the RS2000 larger front discs and suspension.

'Though you dont get many available in "BLACK"....

Hmmm- never knew about that spec- my last one was an early Mk5 XR3i but with a 1600 CVH engine and the smaller (=weaker) gearbox.
