Guest deathwish
Hi. Im just wondering how often/frequently thr hydraulic roof motor/pump can be used. Does it overheat? would i need some way of cooling the oil. Thanks, any info is appreciated.
Guest Lee81
Never come across a overheating issue. The thermal cut out will trigger if you keep the button pressed after the roof has fully opened or closed though. Its more than fit for purpose. Presume you may be wanting to use it for something else?
Guest deathwish
yeah; looking to use it to move a big rear wing as an air brake, with a switch so i can adjust the spoiler manually for twisty roads/track.
Guest Alanman
I use one for opening and closing the boot lid. It open and close our boot all the time at shows and has never been a problem overheating. The only problem you may have, its got the power to lift the boot lid but slowly drops over time. I'd say it would drop even laster with the wind resistance pushing it down. One lap on a track and the spoiler would be all the way down. There's a lot smaller and more effective things that could be used. If it for a spoiler maybe an eletric motor like a window winder or window wiper motor would be more suitable. Guest Alanman
Click the image and you'll see how fast it can be. Bare in mind this was the test, nothing was fastened down properly. Its so much smother now. Edited November 22, 2011 by Alanman
