Guest El87cabi
Without knowing which mk4 you have we'd all be clutching at straw's, there are many variants, give us the year, a detailed description of what the car does and doesn't do, a decent pic of your engine bay wouldn't hurt if ur unsure which particular mk4 you have. All the best, el

Guest lextrojan
Thanks for replying Gingerman & E187cabi. It is EFI & the sensor changed goes into the inlet manifold at the front.
Guest El87cabi
So the ACT sensor, - White plug on the righthand side of the inlet manifold Haven't tried that 1 yet but was planning on swapping it today so will see what it does to mine, suspect it has more to do with higher rev's when starting from cold. I take it you've double checked everything's back as it should be, air hoses aren't blocked etc and have you tried unplugging your ISCV? There's 2 of the 3 ford fitted 1 by the fusebox and the other on the left of the throttle bodies.
Guest El87cabi
You might also want to try checking your ECU's not damp and the pins aren't dirty, before you do that though i'd check your Engine speed sensor as i think it's the 1 that tell the coil pack when to fire and my mechanic say they break down under load i.e driving. If your local i have a spare i think works, may not solve the fault but it'd be worth swapping them to see if it makes any difference
