good morning

i have a seperate 'switch' for the fuel pump, apparently it had a bad earth so all the switch does is make a good earth so it works. everytime you turn it on you can hear the pump wiirrrrrring away and its really loud, with the roof down you can hear the fuel pump over the engine on tickover. im sure my last cabby wasnt like that..... do i need to change it?! its never let me down (apart from the time i forgot to turn the switch on and the engine cut out down the road)

cheers

id personally get rid of that switch and earth it properly! is it mk4 u have? most of the time mine is louder than the engine, even my new pump was. and you sure its got enough petrol, as when they get low they like to make a racket.

yea is a mk4, i like the switch its a psychological security device. its definantly getting enough petrol, i watch the gauge drop every trip to work and back :convertible::drivin:

When my pump was noisy, I had to eventually change it as it was making my cab

idle bad and miss to the point that you could not drive it. I now have a

Bosch pump and all I can her is a very low noise when I turn the key and once

the car is running I cannot hear it anymore.
