Guest derrick
ive just found that the inlet air tempature sensor on my 1.6 efi 1991 was not plugged in and when i did the car runs very eratically but when i disconnect it from the side of the injection unit the car runs fine my question is if i run the car without this will i damage the engine or will i simply use more fuel as i think i am, i drove about fifty miles and used nearly ten quid of petrol does this sensor control the flow of air and petrol mix, and where can i get one? few places ive seen on the web are quote'n £100 plus
Guest suffolk04
I would think if connected and working properly, you would use less fuel. If its disconnnected, the ecu goes into default/limp home mode. The sensor measure the temp of air, so depending of temp of the air, depends on how much/little fuel is needed
